Notes

Crista Gay McCuan, 48, of Raleigh, North Carolina, peacefully passed away at Hospice on 12-10-19. She was born at the Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas. She was the daughter of Lynda Terrell Nichols and Joseph Wayne Nichols of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Lester McCuan of Martin, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents George and Dorothy Terrell, and paternal grandparents L.W. and Hazel McCuan. She also had two sisters—Frankie Frink (Michael Sr.) and Sherry Holden, two brothers—Luke McCuan and Shawn McCuan, as well as three nephews—Michael II, Matthew and Nicholas.

In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her maternal uncle Timothy Terrell (Erika), her paternal aunts, Toni Wells (Ronnie) and Betsy Ferguson (J.R.), numerous beloved cousins, other extended family members and close friends.

Crista was a massage therapist, and she received her associate’s from the Medical Arts Massage School. She enjoyed using her craft to help alleviate their pain and anxiety, and that enjoyment applied to animals as well. Crista was a free spirit who loved nature and animals, and her favorites were bunnies and birds. She especially enjoyed the hot weather, and the closer she could live to the beach the better.

A Memorial Service and reception will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Renaissance Funeral Home, 7615 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27615.

I never saw Christa without a smile on her face. Always upbeat and kind. Let us remember her for the kindness she showed to all. She was there for me when i lost my sister to this dreaded disease called cancer, while she quietly battled it on her own. A true friend, and not gone, only transformed. She will be missed by many, but her suffering has now turned into the light of God. Shine on bright star.... shine on.
