Notes

Thomas Henry Cronin, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the age of 85. Thomas so loved his wife, Dolores, that he followed her after only 10 days so that they can dance with the angels. They were married for 62 years. Thomas who was fondly known to family and friends as Tom, will be dearly missed by his seven children and their families: Sharon Willets (Tom), Cindy Watts (Craig), Stacie Menichella (Dan), Thomas H. Cronin Jr. (Donna), Julie Cronin (Joe Faulk), Dee Traugott, and Mary Dudley (Glenn). He will be lovingly remembered by his 15 grandchildren and his six great grandchildren.

Thomas was born on July 17, 1933, in New York, to the late Henry Thomas and Julia (Lovett) Cronin and preceded in death by his sister, Mary Craine. He proudly served our country through the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956. He retired from IBM as a Senior Program Analyst. After retirement he started a second career with H&R Block building relationships with individuals and small corporations. Tom loved his tax work and finally retired at age 82. Thomas was a devoted husband and father and his family meant everything to him. Tom was an member of the Knights of Columbus rising to the rank of 4th degree knight, a devout catholic, and an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Tom and Dee traveled the world and made it a goal to visit all MLB stadiums. He also loved woodworking and home remodeling.

A Memorial service for Thomas and Dolores will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Cir., Raleigh, NC 27607. https://transitionslifecare.org/donate/

Dad you were an inspiration to our family. You taught us how to be responsible, that education was important, and about work ethics. But most of all you taught us how to love and respect each other no matter what our differences were and that family is the most important aspect in life. You and mom have taught me how to put others first and how to hold my head up high during tough times. You also gave us many memories that we all will cherish forever like our family camping trips, the times we played in the snow, and the horse playing we all did around the house. I will always remember the twinkle in your eye and smile on your face when you looked at mom. Dad you were a great provider, husband, father, and grandfather. You will be greatly missed and you are loved very much. I love you dad.
