Notes

Sue Ellen Castle Rasmussen, age 77, passed away Dec. 2, 2018 in her home at Atria Oakridge Retirement Community in Raleigh, NC. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronald W. Rasmussen. Sue is survived by her daughter Amy E. Kirchner, son-in-law Lloyd G. Kirchner, and grandson Luke A. Kirchner, all of Houston, Texas; sister Sharri Rudman Gaines of Raleigh, NC and brothers Dwight and Dwaine Castle. Sue was born Dec. 31, 1940 in Kingwood, WV, the daughter of Aileen Meadows Castle Rudman and Samuel Castle, and step-father John F. Rudman.

Sue lived in Huntington, WV until 1960, graduating from Huntington East High School and attending Marshall University, where she was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. From here she moved to Chicago, IL, was employed as a Fashion Coordinator for Marshall Field and Company and where she met and married her beloved husband Ronald Wayne Rasmussen.

Retirement took Sue and Ron to northeastern Oklahoma where they spent many pleasant years on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees, enjoying lake front living, entertaining family and friends, and being involved with community service in the Langley, Oklahoma area.

Sue moved to Garner, NC in 2014 where she made new friends and enjoyed the fine southern hospitality of the area. Her last few years were spent in the comfort of Atria Oakridge Independent Retirement Community in Raleigh surrounded by amazing staff and residents.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at Atria Oakridge Senior Living Community in Raleigh, NC.

Such a special lady, Sue I will treasure all the weekends that I and Mike spent with you, and Ron on the deck at Dan and Kathy's at Windmill Run on Grandlake. We have some awesome fellowship during that time. It was an honor to call you and Ron friends along with Dan and Kathy. Everyone has a special place in my heart and we have some great times. You might not be here physically but your memory along with Ron and Dan is.
The dinners that we had together, at Kathy's, your house, Lighthouse etc was always a treat and getting to visit another evening was a pleasure and always welcomed.

I'm going to miss our telephone conversation we have had over the past few years since you moved to NC..... Again you might have move but you was never forgotten....

Love you and Miss you tons....

I have no doubt that Ron was there to welcome his bride back into his arms......

Rest in Peace my dear friend until we meant again...

Don
