Notes

Dennis Ray Anderson of Raleigh passed away on Monday November 3, 2014 at the age of 59. Dennis was born on March 17, 1955, in Louisville, Kentucky to James and Carolyn Adams Anderson. He graduated from Purdue University in 1978 with a M.S. in Computer Science. Dennis worked as a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories in Piscataway, NJ for 7 years and as a Senior Software Engineer at IBM in Research Triangle Park for 30 years. He developed a real camaraderie with everyone with whom he worked.

Dennis leaves behind his beloved wife of 32 years, Cathy, and their two daughters Heather and Michelle Anderson. He was a loving father and devoted husband whose proudest accomplishment was watching his daughters grow up to become a Pediatrician and Pharmacist. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, playing the piano, and going to hockey games and concerts with his wife. He never knew a stranger and made friends at the local coffee shop and restaurants that he frequently visited.

He is survived by his father and step-mother, Jim and Shirley Anderson of Shepherdsville, KY; one sister, Cheryl Simpson and husband Scott of Boston, MA; two brothers, Gary Anderson and wife Beth of Constantine, KY and David Anderson of Brandenburg, KY; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Anderson.

Dear Anderson Family -- We so enjoyed our times with Dennis (and you three special ladies) either in your Raleigh home or at our Badin lakehouse. He was as good a guest as he was a host ... always upbeat and highly engaged in whatever the occasion. Our hearts go out to you at this time. Fondly, The Carey Durham Family - Asheboro, NC

heart is saddened by the news of my beloved friend. My coffee and beer buddy. We shared laughs tears and awesome conversation. Me having republican views and him razing me his democratic views but I loved him for that. He shared his knowledge of stocks and always tried to point me in the right direction. He had a kind heart, I was more than happy to help move one of the daughters huge TV to her new place. I just want to say I am truly sorry. U are forever in my prayers. I will be there tomorrow at the funeral to just peek my head in. Again my heart goes out to the family.

Dennis is missed so very much by his Aunt Bernice and the clan. I am go glad we were blessed to visit with Dennis not too long ago. It was a wonderful meal and conversation. I have always looked up to my older cousins. You will be in our hearts forever. My recent phone calls with Dennis introduced me to a new feeling of warmth and an understanding we have never been able to share in the past. I will miss our conversations deeply. There is a plan for you on your final journey. Embrace it and know that you are loved by so many. I hope to meet up with you on my final journey. Thanks for the love, laughter, smiles, and mostly your unfailing faith in me. I love you...

Laura
